OUTLINE:
JOSHUA DIVIDES THE LAND FOR THE 7 REMAINING TRIBES (18:1-10):
Seven Israelite tribes still hadn’t received their inheritance in the Promised Land, and Joshua seemed to suggest it was because they were slow to obey God’s command and conquer the remaining territory.
He told them to send 3 men from each tribe to inspect the remaining land and write up a description.
When they finished, they brought the description to Joshua at Shiloh, and he divided up the land by casting lots.
THE LAND INHERITANCE OF THE TRIBE OF BENJAMIN (18:11-28):
Verses 11-28 describe the borders of the land Benjamin received within the Promised Land.
A few notable cities were located in Benjamin’s land, namely Jericho and Jerusalem (Jebus).
